BRUISSEMENTS DU CERCLE 6 / November 7, 2013
PROGRAM
Jérôme Ducharme will interpret the complete works for solo guitar by Maxime McKinley. Without a doubt one of the most inventive composers of his generation, McKinley explores the expressive and colouristic palette of the guitar in Figures de sable (1998), ...être cela même… (2002) and Mandala (2010).
74/10 /// DANIEL LEGUIZAMÓN
Wapiti ensemble, comprised of Geneviève Liboiron (violin) and Daniel Anez (synthesizer),
interpret the improvisational scheme 74/10 by Colombian composer Daniel Leguizamón.
Joined by Adam Basanta on live electronics, the unpredictable course of the work will be based on the nature of musical information contributed by the musicians as well as their transformative potential.
ANTHROPOLOGIES IMAGINAIRES (work in progress) /// GABRIEL DHARMOO
Inspired by unusual vocal traditions found around the globe, Gabriel Dharmoo explores the primitive and sophisticated spectrum of his voice in this mockumentary showcasing the music and customs of fictional people.
THIS TIME /// LORI FREEDMAN This Time is a set of musical ideas discovered in the moment of expressing them. Confounded and obsessed by the nature of Time and its omnipotent control of designing sound routes, Lori Freedman (clarinets) invites the listener to enter into a state of instability with music flowing imperceptibly between tenses: now and then, then and now….this time.
