Set against the backdrop of Durga Puja, the largest annual religious festival in Bengal, DURGA is a visual poem exploring the contradiction between ceremonial goddess worship and the brutality of domestic violence in India. The rich palette of textures, colours and sounds that mark the festivities, become metaphors for this darker, much less revered reality faced by millions of Indian women.
