Vocal Carnatic Music
When I perform carnatic music on the cello, it is interesting to integrate vocal qualities to my playing. My lessons with the great Madurai G.S. Mani definitely help me understand Carnatic music and grasp the vocal style.
Here is are 2 excerpts from my last lesson in January 2012, where we had fun developing the ornamentation I had been accustomed to - showing me just how endlessly creative performing within a raga can be!
